Welcome! I'm Lisa, the founder of Downtown Therapy Associates, established in
2023. My career has been dedicated to empowering individuals of all ages, from children to adults. With experience in diverse settings-including hospitals, federal and state governments, child welfare, and child development-l've had the privilege of working with many communities to foster growth and resilience.
I believe in the innate ability of people to heal themselves, and our approach emphasizes strengths and personal empowerment. At Downtown Therapy Associates, we prioritize high-quality counseling based in research, knowing that effective support can transform lives.
Equally important is our commitment to developing the next generation of helpers. I am passionate about equipping new therapists with the tools they need to succeed while also emphasizing the importance of self-care for therapist. Sustaining oneself in this vital work is essential for long-term effectiveness and personal well-being.
When I'm not at work, you can find me gardening, exercising, or cooking— activities that keep me grounded and inspired. I'm excited to connect with you and share in this journey of empowerment together!
Hello, my name is Jennifer, and I'm a licensed therapist with over 20 years of experience in bodywork and 15 years in the mental health field. I bring a deep passion for looking at the mind body connection and to help clients address both physical and emotional challenges in an integrated way. I am person-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused. I believe in fostering an interactive environment where we can work together to explore practical techniques, psychoeducation, and skill-building exercises to support your growth.
My number one priority is creating a safe, compassionate space where you can feel empowered to explore aspects of yourself that may be holding you back from reaching your goals. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with addiction, those affected by addiction, caregiver burnout, chronic pain, and the emotional challenges of living with chronic medical conditions. I'm here to provide the support, guidance, and tools you need to move forward and create a life that aligns with your values and aspirations.
I'm Jenna Jenkins, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at Downtown
Therapy Associates in Amherst, MA. Since beginning my career in social work in 2017, I've had the opportunity to work in various settings, including clinical outpatient care, group homes, state agencies, and child welfare. I've also collaborated with professionals across different disciplines within the field.
While I specialize in working with children and adolescents, my office is open to individuals of all ages.
My approach to therapy is strengths-based. We'll focus on where you are right now and work together to build upon your existing strengths. I'm experienced in several therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (СВТ), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Informed Care. However, our primary goal will be to create a foundation of trust and safety, ensuring that your voice is heard and respected as we move at your own pace. Therapy can be challenging, but we'll walk this path together, focusing on your strengths and integrating new skills into your daily life. My office is a judgment-free zone where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and emotions openly.
When I'm not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading a good book, or trying my hand at learning how to crochet.
Aimee is a LCSW who also has a Master's degree in child development. Her practice is person-centered and relies on principles of the relational model which holds that each individual's well-being is built around connection built through healthy relationships. Aimee believes that attachment and early childhood experiences offer windows into interpreting behavior. Holding and safeguarding emotional space in the therapeutic relationship is foundational to building trust and modeling connection and to ensuring each person's therapy is a collaborative project based on the intentions and goals of the client.
Aimee's experience includes work in neurodiversity, child/parent/family development, LGBTQ+ identity and development, early adulthood discovery and mothering.
Hi, I'm Cheryl Case and I've been in practice for over 30 years. My passion has always been helping people connect with their own inner healing resources to create positive change in their lives. Whether working in nonprofit clinics as a clinician and supervisor, or in solo practice, my focus has been on supporting individuals and families in a way that honors both their struggles and their strengths.
My primary therapeutic approach is EMDR, but I also draw on other powerful modalities such as Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Ego State Therapy,
Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy, and Play Therapy. I believe deeply in the importance of working with both adults and children, as well as their caregivers, to foster healing and growth.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is witnessing how clients discover and strengthen their inner voice, and learn to listen to the wisdom of their bodies. Therapy is about more than just healing-it's also about uncovering the parts of ourselves that hold wisdom and learning how to embrace them. In our work together, we begin and end with curiosity, compassion, and a shared commitment to the journey of self-discovery and transformation.
